For New Students: This assessment will help determine the most suitable Math Circles level for your child.
For Returning Students: You should have received a placement recommendation from your teacher. If you wish to skip a level, please contact us at info@mathpotentials before taking this assessment.
📋 Assessment Instructions & Rules:
Before You Begin:
- Clear your workspace - Remove all calculators, notes, and devices
- Find a quiet environment - Minimize distractions for optimal focus
- Have scratch paper ready - You may need to work out problems by hand
- Ensure stable internet connection - Assessment must be completed in one session
During the Assessment:
- NO CALCULATOR ALLOWED - All calculations must be done mentally or on paper
- NO INTERNET SEARCHES - Do not look up formulas or solutions online
- NO HELP FROM OTHERS - This must be your independent work
- TIME LIMIT: 90 minutes maximum - Timer starts when you begin the assessment
- Answer what you know - Skip unfamiliar questions rather than guessing
- Work at your own pace - You can navigate between sections freely
Assessment Strategy:
- Start with familiar topics - Build confidence with questions you know
- Show your thinking - Write clear, complete answers
- Double-check your work - Review answers before moving to next section
- Don't stress about difficulty - This covers multiple grade levels
After Submission:
- Results within 2 weeks - Check your email (including spam folder)
- Placement recommendation included - Based on your performance and grade level
- Contact us if needed - Reach out if you don't receive results in 10 minutes
